Marketing and communications play a key role in fundraising. Telling the organization’s story is a critical element of developing and cultivating relationships with donors and prospective donors.
Fundraising was recently ranked among the best careers this year by U.S. News and World Report. The report was issued electronically in January and recently published in the magazine’s print edition. I’ve been debating with myself for a few years about the long-term outlook for marketing and communications in small or large nonprofits. This article shows that communications and marketing skills are a necessity in today’s fundraising world.
