Nonprofit organizations must be able to build coalitions and develop relationships with elected officials and civic leaders. The skill is critical as organizations strive to accomplish their mission, build awareness of their work, develop various resources and increase donations and volunteers.
“Operation: Advocacy,” will be the topic of the Community Service Public Relations Council‘s luncheon in June. Anne Silea, the Advocacy Facilitator with Lutheran Family and Children’s Services of Missouri, will lead the discussion. Please join us:

Ms. Silea is in her eighth year as the Advocacy Facilitator for her organization. She earned a B.S. in sociology and psychology from Truman State University and a MSW from St. Louis University.
In addition to communicating, nonprofits must be able to mobilize its clients and constituents to passionately and effectively advocate for the organization’s mission. Nonprofits also must be aware of rules and etiquette involving lobbying elected officials.
